New zoning law revisions hearing slated for May 4

Saturday, May 2, 2009

Following testimony in February for the county's proposed new zoning ordinances, the commissioners responded to comments and have made several changes in the proposal.

Those changes and the final form of the total rewrite of the county's zoning ordinances will be presented at a hearing May 4, before the commissioners, beginning at 6 p.m. in the commissioner's room at the courthouse.

The biggest change made from the earlier proposal involves requiring all heavy industrial (M2) uses to include a conditional use permit before approval.
