Funding shortfall threatens art council

The Mountain Home Arts Council is facing significant financial difficulties as a result of the faltering economy, and is appealing for patrons to come forward with additional donations to help it get through the rest of its fiscal year.

The council supports local arts programs and activities and sponsors a number of cultural events, plays and concerts in the community each year.

During a board meeting earlier this month, Executive Director Sally Cruser said the budget report showed the council is facing a $5,000 shortfall this year.
