Tiger girl golfers win conference tourney

The Mountain Home Tigers girls golf team won their conference tournament, while the boys were a close second during competition April 7 at Centennial Golf Course in Nampa.

The Tiger JV boys also won the JV tourney.

The Mountain Home girls, led by Shayla Streeter's first place 49, won with a team total of 207. Skyview was a distant second, 12 shots back, at 219. Nampa finished third at 240 and Kuna did not have a complete team.

Besides Shayla Streeter's top score of 49, Alicen Wendall and Shelby Stevens both tied for second, shooting a 52. Kelsey Egusquiza shot a 54, which tied her for ninth, and Melanie Bate shot her best of the season, a 58.

Skyview won the boys' competition, shooting a 169 team total, six shots better than Mountain Home's 175. Nampa came in at 180, and Kuna shot a 193.

Mountain Home's Stephen Elliott shot a 40, giving him medalist honors.

Tyler Bennett tied for second a stroke back at 41. Nick Reynolds came in with a 46, Michael Heinen shot a 48, and Travis Goldsby carded a 52.

Mountain Home won the JV competition, shooting a 186, led by Zach Pomerantz, who won medalist honors with his 41 score.

Jeff Land carded a 45, Doug Zielnicki, 48, Clint Butori, 52, and Colton Zamora came in with a 55.

Mountain Home's next action was Tuesday at Purple Sage Golf Course in Caldwell for a conference tourney with Nampa, Columbia and Middleton on April 14. Results were not available at press time.
