Club wrestlers earn medals

Three members of the local Mountain Man wrestling club traveled to Nyssa, Ore., for the Mat Rat Tournament recently.

Bantam Trevor Dockstader finished second and Intermediate Logan Strom brought home first place honors.

Also wrestling but not placing was Tanner Keener.

This past weekend 10 wrestlers travel to Kuna for the Kavemen Invitational, wrestling against competition from Idaho, Oregon and Utah.

Finishing with silver medals were Kanoa Doronio and Jacob Wendall.

Third place went to Trevor Dockstader and Brandon Malan.

Bobby Dominguez and Jon Ryan finished with fourth-place honors. Hunter Coots placed fifth in Pre Bantam and Jonathon Jones finished in sixth place.

Wrestling but unable to place were Jacob Lucas and Chance Hense.

The coaches are very proud of the teams' performance. "We think they fought very hard and placed very respectable for the level of competition they ran into," said Coach Kevin Staebler.

Next week the club will travel to Melba for tournament action. Mountain Man Wrestling Club with be hosting the Mountain Man Challenge on April 17-18. Anyone interested in volunteering time or resources to help should contact Kevin Staebler at kevin@mountainmanwrestling.com.
