Senior center receives grant

A $107,000 Community Development Block grant has been awarded to help pay for renovations at the Mountain Home Senior Center.

The grant was given to the city of Mountain Home from the Idaho Department of Commerce.

Improvements will include construction of a bus port that will keep the seniors' bus protected from the weather and allow its passengers to offload and enter the center under cover.

The grant also will be used for roof replacement, new exterior siding and on a new countertop, dishwasher and ventilation fan upgrades in the kitchen.

Hamilton Builders of Mountain Home was awarded the bid for the project
