Brian English, president of the MHEA, presents to city Library Director Louise House a copy of Dr. Seuss' "Cat in the Hat" for Read across America Day.

The Mountain Home Education Association recently presented to each elementary school and the city library a copy of "Cat in the Hat," by Dr. Seuss.

The presentation was part of Read Across America Day, held on March 2.

MHEA President Brian English and Second Vice President Barbara Checketts went around to all of the town elementary schools and presented the book to the local principals.

Ted Burgess, who is the MHEA building representative of the Base Primary School, presented the book to the school's principal, Ernie Elliott, during a program to help celebrate the day.

The books purchased by Checketts and Terri Sanders started out as part of the MHEA centerpiece at the last Chamber of Commerce Dinner held in February. It was at that time that the MHEA decided to present the books to the schools.

The MHEA is a local association of teachers and para-educators that help support childrens' educational needs.
