WECRD's proposal is something city needs

Wednesday, March 11, 2009

Dear editor:

I am writing this letter in support of the Western Elmore County Recreation District.

The citizens of this district have spoken and it is high time that we have a recreational facility that we can enjoy all year long.

This facility will be a huge benefit to our community.

Wait until everyone is on the same page and in total agreement and it will never happen. Again, the majority has spoken and voted on this, now is the time.

Our children grew up going with us to What-a-Racquet and using the pool, racquetball courts, playing basketball, doing aerobics and using the weights and machines. It was a positive and healthy way to grow as a family and Mountain Home needs a facility like this again.

It will benefit the whole community whether it be by better health, a lower crime rate or the new jobs it will create.

I love this town and am proud to say I was born and raised here, as was my father. My grandfather laid his roots down here over a hundred years ago. So if you are like me and part of the silent majority, speak up and be heard. We need this sooner than later!
