Youth Center plans dance this Friday

The Mountain Home Youth Center will hold a dance on Feb. 27 from 6:30-10:30 p.m.

Described as a "family event," the dance will feature Philip Garcia with DJ TKO, rap artis Prafasi, B-Boy Answer, and others.

The financially strapped youth center recently received a $2,000 grant from the Idaho Community Foundation to allow it to purchase two new computers, a new printer and internet service.

It also is trying to raise money through the use of donation cans distributed at businesses throughout the city and the use of Albertson's Community Partnership Cards. The center is encouraging people to link their Alberston's Preferred Savings Cards to the center to help it raise funds.

So far, the center had earned enough money to have an architectural rendering done of its proposed new facility, which would include a roller skating rink.
