Soph girls split games

The Mountain Home Lady Tigers sophomores came away with a split of last week's conference girls basketball games.

Nampa 43

Mtn. Home 33

Nampa outscored Mountain Home 14-6 in the second quarter and it proved costly to the Lady Tigers, who lost at Nampa last Tuesday, 43-33.

Mountain Home trailed by one, 6-5, after a quarter, but the second-quarter edge for Nampa made it 20-11, Lady Bulldogs.

The Lady Tigers pretty much matched Nampa point-for-point in the second half, but could not make up the second quarter deficit, falling 43-33.

Jasmyne Moore led Mountain Home in scoring with 14 points. Courtney Christiansen added seven, Kelsey Egusquiza six, JaDene Palmer four, and Courtney Broughton and Kelly Robins both scored one point.

Mtn. Home 21

Kuna 16

The Lady Tigers built up a big lead and held on for a 21-16 win over Kuna Friday night in Lloyd Schiller Gymnasium in Mountain Home.

Mountain Home led 10-4 after a quarter, and managed just two points in the second quarter, but held Kuna scoreless to lead 12-4 at the half. It was 18-6 Mountain Home after three.

A basket by Jasmyne Moore put the Lady Tigers up 21-6 with 5:55 left in the game. Kuna then scored with 5:03 left -- their first field goal since the end of the first quarter. They would score the final 10 points of the game as the Lady Tigers held on for a 21-16 win.

JaDene Palmer and Jasmyne Moore both scored seven points to lead Mountain Home in scoring. Kelsey Egusquiza added four points and Courtney Christiansen had three points.
