Mary Dee Rose, 79, died Monday, Oct. 20, 2008, at her residence in Shoshone.

Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 24, at the Shoshone United Methodist Church. Burial followed at the Glenn Rest Cemetery in Glenns Ferry. Arrangements were under the direction of Demaray Funeral Service, Shoshone Chapel.

Mary was born Oct. 3, 1929, in Wirth, Ark., to James Walter and Ora M. Taylor. she married Kenneth O. Rose on Aug. 17, 1946, at Hardy, Ark. To that marriage of 62 years there were three children born: Larry E. Rose of Glenns Ferry, Kenneth M. Rose of Bozeman, Mont., and James T. Rose of Pueblo, Colo.

She is survived by: her husband, three sons, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one sister and four brothers.

Mary was preceded in death by her father and mother, three sisters and on brother.

"Mary worked hard all of her life and enjoyed trying new things," her family said. "She worked in upholstery and antiques for many years and always raised a big vegetable and flower garden. She was able to catch a fish in a mud puddle.

"She loved her family fervently and placed God above all else. She was full of love and kindness for all and showed her love in word and deed. Her strong faith picture allowed her to praise God and persevere to the end with love and great joy for her many blessings."
