Gas sinks below $3

Thursday, October 30, 2008

Mountain Home drivers can now breath a sigh of financial relief, due to the spike in gas prices finally coming to an end and most recently dropping to prices under three dollars a gallon.

The spike caused a surge that this summer saw gas prices soar to $4.19 to pump regular gas, $4.46 to pump premium and $4.95 to pump diesel at both the Chevron stations at Exit 90 and 95 during the month of June.

Since then, little by little, the prices began to decrease, by two or three cents each week.

Over the last few weeks, at a time when the economy is in a tailspin, gas prices began to drop locally at a rate of almost 20 cents a week.
