Freshman football team crushes Nampa 66-0

The Mountain Home Tigers freshman football team scored early and often on their way to a 66-0 blowout win over the Nampa freshmen last Thursday at Tiger Field.

Austin Clark set the tone for the game by running back the opening kickoff 72 yards for a touchdown. Clark would score three more touchdowns in the game -- two on runs and one on a pass from Jake Hennessey -- and Juan Silva scored three touchdowns as the Tigers led 20-0 after a quarter, 41-0 at halftime, and 54-0 after three.

JT Cristobal scored on a 63-yard pass from Jake Hennessey, Antonio Tancredi had a nine-yard run for a score and Cory Pinque scored on a five-yard run.

The Tigers rushed for 314 yards in the game, getting solid performances

from their running backs. Juan Silva had 91 yards and three touchdowns rushing, Antonio Tancredi rushed for 75 yards and a score, Austin Clark had 60 yards and two scores, JT Cristobal had two carries for 43 yards, Cory Pinque had 34 yards rushing and a touchdown, and Tyler Knauth rushed for 11 yards.

Jake Hennessey completed five of six passes for 101 yards and two touchdowns. Alex Rodriguez completed one of three passes for five yards.

JT Cristobal caught three passes for 78 yards and a touchdown, Austin Clark had two catches for 20 yards and a score, and Tyler Knauth caught one pass for eight yards.

The win improved Mountain Home to 6-1 on the season.
