Fire station open house Thursday

Wednesday, October 8, 2008
Fireman Brain Reed teaches third graders how to stop, drop and roll last week during Fire Prevention Week.

The Mountain Home Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual Fire Prevention Open House on Oct. 9 from 5:30-8:15 at the fire station behind Paul's Market.

Sparky the Fire Dog and Smokey the Bear will be on hand for the little ones, and children will be given rides throughout the evening on the fire trucks.

Local firefighters, including the base and BLM teams, as well as the DARE program, the city COP program and Northwest Paramedics will have displays set up in the fire station truck bay area.

For the kids, cookies, milk and juice will be served and the department will be handing out toy badges, helmets, stickers and coloring books.

  • Mountain Home is very lucky to have the caliber of volunteers they have on their fire department. Phil Gridley and all the guys train and work hard for the community. Keep up the great work.
