The mighty Tiger dream team is back on track

Wednesday, October 8, 2008

Dear editor:

Friday night Sept. 26, was a night to remember. Our Mountain Home Tigers varsity football team defeated Columbia High School from Nampa in an epic battle.

Columbia seemed to dominate us from the start with their running game. However, they never quite put it out of reach for the mighty Tigers. With less than ten seconds left in the game we scored. With a "0" clock we scored two extra points to tie the game at 21 all.

In overtime the Tigers showed what they were made of. They scored a touchdown and then converted for two extra points. The Columbia Wildcats couldn't keep up. They scored a touchdown but failed to convert the extra points.

The Mountain Home crowd went wild.

The mighty Tiger dream team is back.

From all the citizens of Mountain Home to the Tigers, thank you for one of the most exciting games I have ever witnessed in my 66 years of life. To head coach Brian Floyd and his entire staff -- well done and thank you for instilling in our young men an attitude of "never give up."

I look forward to many more games this season. I hope they aren't quite that exciting. My heart can't take stand the excitement.

Again -- thank you to all the Tiger football team members for a job well done.
