Commissioners ignored P&Z, area citizens

Wednesday, October 8, 2008

Dear editor:

I am appalled that the Elmore County Board of County Commissioners approved the Clear Springs Ranch Subdivision.

This project will not benefit the surrounding community that is part of the aqua recharge area. All others in the area are required to have five-acre lots. And according to the preliminary plots map it clearly shows that less than 10 percent of the plots in Clear Springs are a full acre. Therefore this subdivision will not fit into the surrounding area.

I feel as if the planning and zoning committee was correct in saying the plan was too compact.

Regardless of the studies done for traffic and septic densities and that of the Central District Health Department, there was no consideration for the property owners who are all opposed to this project that live in the surrounding area.

I firmly believe that this project is to move forward for the benefit of one person of questionable public and financial reputation. Nothing about this project will benefit the community at large now or in the future.

Everyone on the Elmore County Board of County Commissioners should be ashamed of himself or herself for allowing such a blight to inhabit our rural community.
