Homecoming begins this week

Homecoming Week is underway at Mountain Home High School, and will culminate with the crowning of the queen during halftime of Saturday's game against Skyview, which begins at 7 p.m. at Tiger Field.

On Monday, the sophomores took part in a Hippie dress up day and played musical chairs during lunchtime, while the Macho Man Volleyball game was held that night.

Tuesday the juniors took part in an Opposite Dress-up Day and held a Battle of the Sexes at lunchtime.

Today, Wednesday, the seniors will take part in a Cartoon Dress-up Day and the lunchtime activity will be a dance off.

Tiger Field will host the annual Powder Puff game starting at 7 p.m. tonight.

Students can gain admission to the game by donating two cans of food for the school's October food drive.

On Thursday, the student leadership will take part in a Nerd Dress-up Day and the lunchtime activity will be Twister.

The MHHS volleyball team will play three matches against Skyview that night, with game times at 4:30 p.m. (sophomores), 5:30 p.m. (JV) and 6:30 p.m. (varsity).

Following the game, the gym bleachers will be decorated from 9-10 p.m.

Things kick into high gear on Friday.

The school will hold Tiger Day, where each student will dress in orange and black. The homecoming assembly will begin at 12:40 p.m., followed by the homecoming parade, starting at 2:10 p.m. The parade will leave the high school, go down Jackson Street in front of the junior high, then head through downtown and back up American Legion Boulevard.

The tailgate party will take place at the north parking lot at Tiger Field, starting at 5 p.m. and concluding at 7 p.m. in time for kickoff of the MHHS Homecoming game versus Skyview. The MHJHS gym will hold the Homecoming Dance that evening from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

The king will be announced on Friday at the homecoming assembly and the queen at halftime of the football game. The prince/princess and duke/duchess will be announced at the dance on Friday night.

Prince: Brock Morris, Gavin Cline, Thomas Miller, Thomas Hennessey.

Queen: Amy Hymer, Lauren Borgholthaus, Erika Castro, Katrina Hodgerson.

King: Jesse Donez, Tallon Pauley, Chris Maholick, William Derome.
