The Mountain Home Tigers freshman football team bounced back from their loss to Columbia with a 42-22 win over previously unbeaten Bishop Kelly last Wednesday at Tiger Field in Mountain Home.

The Tigers scored early and often, building up a 42-0 lead through three quarters. Bishop Kelly struck for 22 points in the fourth quarter to make it a 42-22 final.

"It was good to see the boys play well again, after a week during which we spent a majority of our practice time working on blocking and tackling," said Tiger freshman football coach Rick Suber. "The defense played very well. We forced three turnovers, had six sacks, forced five punts and blocked two of them, and missed fewer tackles than we have all season."

Juan Silva led the Tigers in rushing with 72 yards and two touchdowns on 10 rushes. Austin Clark carried the ball two times for 47 yards and a score. Cory Pinque had five carries for 30 yards, Antonio Tancredi had eight rushes for 15 yards and Alex Rodriguez carried twice for three yards. Jake Hennessey completed six of 10 passes for 160 yards and two touchdowns. He also had two passes picked off.

JT Cristobal caught two passes for 80 yards and two touchdowns, Tyler Knauth had one TD catch for 40 yards, and Derrick Meyers, Juan Silva and Antonio Tancredi had a reception.

The 4-1 Tigers host Nampa at 4:30 p.m. (Thursday) afternoon at Tiger Field.
