JV football defeats Bishop Kelly

The Mountain Home Tigers JV football team improved to 3-2 on the season with last Wednesday's 28-6 win over the Bishop Kelly JV.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Tigers got on the scoreboard in the second quarter on a four-yard run by Curtis Jackson. The PAT was blocked, but Mountain Home led 6-0, a lead they took into the locker room at halftime.

The Tigers scored in the third quarter on a 33-yard pass from Brock Morris to Cody Ramos. The Tigers added the two-point conversion to make it 14-0.

Mountain Home scored two more times in the fourth quarter, Anthony Castillo from a yard out early in the quarter, and Colton Zamora scored from a yard out late in the quarter. Both PAT's were good, and the Tigers increased their lead to 28-0.

Bishop Kelly scored in the final seconds to make it a 28-6 final.

The Tigers pounded out 208 yards rushing on 53 carries. Colton Zamora led the way with 19 carries for 106 yards and a touchdown. Anthony Castillo rushed 12 times for 47 yards and a touchdown. Curtis Jackson had 31 yards and a touchdown on 12 rushes, Enrique Varela had six rushes for 24 yards, Julio Cantu had one carry for three yards and Brock Morris had three carries for minus three yards.

Anthony Castillo completed three of five passes for 26 yards and Brock Morris completed two of six for 32 yards and a touchdown. He also had one pass picked off.

Cody Ramos caught two passes for 50 yards and a touchdown. Jordan Warila caught one pass for 11 yards and Curtis Jackson had two catches for minus three yards.

The win improved the JV Tigers to 3-2 on the season. They host Nampa tomorrow (Thursday) night at 7 p.m. at Tiger Field.
