The Mountain Home Tigers came away with a win in three games last week in boys soccer.

Tigers 4

Columbia 0

The Mountain Home Tigers pulled away in the second half to down the Wildcats 4-0 last Monday.

Christian Figueroa and Fernando Salas combined for 11 saves in the shutout. Eloy Guadarrama scored two goals, and Danny Snelgrow and Logan Whitney scored goals for Mountain Home.

"We had a great win. The guys really played well," said Tiger boys soccer coach Paul Walsh.

Middleton 3

Mtn. Home 0

The Tigers hosted Middleton last Wednesday at Eastside Park, but came out on the short end of a 3-0 contest. Christian Figueroa had seven saves on goal for the Tigers on the day.

"We just couldn't get it together today. I don't know -- I'm definitely going to look at some film for this one -- Middleton played real well. They beat us to a lot of 50-50 balls, and I think that was the difference for us. We're still working. We're a work in progress."

Jerome 5

Mtn. Home 1

The Tigers traveled down to Jerome last Friday and had another tough contest with Jerome. The score was tied 1-1 at halftime, but Jerome then scored four goals during a 12-minute stretch midway through the second half to pull away from Mountain Home and win 5-1. Francisco Domingues scored Mountain Home's goal.

"We actually played pretty good," said Coach Walsh of the Jerome game. "The second half, when they scored some goals, the guys just got kind of down on themselves, and Jerome, they really came out and played well."

The Tigers fell to 3-6-3 with the loss. They were home against Kuna on Monday, and are on the road to Nampa this (Wednesday) afternoon. They are at Bishop Kelly on Oct. 6, and play their final home game on Oct. 8 against Emmett.

The District III 4A Boys Soccer Tournament opens Oct. 11 at Kuna.
