City to hold surplus sale Saturday
The city of Mountain Home will hold a surplus sale this Saturday, Sept. 27, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the city Public Works Department facilities at 1150 S. Main St.
"We haven't had one in ten years," said Mayor Tom Rist, "and there's a lot of stuff we need to get rid of" that the city is no longer using.
Rist recently ordered all city departments to check their inventories and release for the sale any outdated items that the city was no longer using. In addition, items confiscated by police or unclaimed found items held by the police will be available for sale.
The bays of the Public Works Department have been filled to the rafters this week with the items going on sale Friday.
They include everything from vehicles to golf carts to lawn mowers to shelving and computers (with the hard drives removed). Some items will be pallitized and according to Rist, "if you want something on the pallet, you have to bid for the entire pallet."
The items can be previewed on Friday, Sept. 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
All goods will be sold "as is," without any warranties or guarantees that the goods are in "any condition or fit to be used for any purpose."
Rist said any items not sold will either be donated to the Idaho Youth Ranch or sent to a salvage yard.
Rick Viola will serve as the auctioneer.
