Atlanta Power hearing set for Oct. 7

Wednesday, September 24, 2008

The location of the Oct. 7 scheduled hearing in the Atlanta Power case has been moved to the Atlanta Christian Chapel, 85 S. Quartz St.

Because of facility limitations the hearing has been moved from the previously announced location at the Atlanta School.

Commissioners will be in Atlanta on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 4 p.m. to take testimony from customers of Atlanta Power Company, which serves about 75 residential and commercial customers in the Elmore County community.

The company is asking for a 60.6 percent increase in revenues.

In June, the commission approved a 33.6 percent surcharge to pay for expenses related to the failure of the company's hydroelectric turbine last March. The surcharge portion of the rate case will be revisited during the consideration of the company's proposed overall general rate increase.

Customers may file written comments in the case through Friday, Oct. 3. Comments are accepted via e-mail by accessing the commission's homepage at www.puc.idaho.gov and clicking on "Comments & Questions." Fill in the case number (ATL-E-08-02) and enter your comments. Comments also can be mailed to P.O. Box 83720, Boise, ID 83720-0074 or faxed to (208) 334-3762.
