Boys soccer ties, losses two

The Mountain Home Tigers came up with a tie and two losses in boys soccer action last week.

Tigers 1

Emmett 1

The Tigers battled Emmett tough last Monday at Emmett in an SIC 4A conference game that ended in a 1-1 tie.

Danny Snelgrow scored the Tiger goal off an assist by Sean O'Neill.

Christian Figueroa had seven saves on goal for Mountain Home.

Tiger boys soccer coach Paul Walsh thought his Tigers "dominated the entire game. We had 14 shots on goal, but only found the back of the net one time, as their keeper came up big on a couple plays for them, and that was kind of a frustrating one for us. We played well, we dominated, we just couldn't find the back of the net."

Skyview 5

Tigers 0

The Skyview Hawks remained unbeaten on the season, blanking the Tigers at Eastside Park in Mountain Home last Wednesday. Christian Figueroa had 13 saves on goal for the Tigers.

"They're always tough," said Coach Walsh of Skyview. "They've been tough for a number of years, but we didn't play our best. They really took advantage of all our mistakes, and we missed some opportunities against them, too. It could have been a different game."

Jerome 1

Tigers 0

Mountain Home battled the Jerome Tigers tough at Eastside Park in Mountain Home last Thursday, losing 1-0, with Jerome's score coming on a penalty kick about midway through the second half.

"We played a real good game tonight!" said Coach Walsh after the game. "To lose it on a PK (penalty kick), that's not a bad way to go. We had our opportunities and really, we've kind of been down on ourselves and I thought the kids played really well tonight. We didn't come away with a win, but they played real hard."

Christian Figueroa had five saves on goal for Mountain Home against Jerome.

The Tigers have three more games this week, the first two at home. They were home against Columbia on Monday, host Middleton today, and travel to Jerome on Friday.
