JV Tigers lose in last minute

The Mountain Home Tigers JV football team dropped a heartbreaker at Middleton last Friday, losing to the Vikings 22-21.

The Tigers had things going their way in the first half, and led, 12-0 at halftime.

The Tigers first touchdown came on a seven-yard run by Colton Zamora in the first quarter. Anthony Castillo scored from five yards out in the second quarter.

The Tigers scored on a 20-yard field goal by Anthony Castillo in the third quarter.

Middleton scored their first touchdown and made a two-point conversion, as Mountain Home led 15-8 heading into the fourth quarter.

Middleton got a touchdown and two-point conversion to take the lead 16-15 in the fourth quarter, but the Tigers battled back with Brock Morris hitting Curtis Jackson on a 20-yard touchdown pass. The PAT attempt failed, but Mountain Home led 21-16.

Middleton went back in the lead, scoring with 50 seconds left to lead 22-21.

Mountain Home then started from their own 18. Brock Morris hit Jordan Warila on a 13-yard pass out to the 31. An illegal procedure penalty moved the ball back to the 26 and Brock Morris was sacked at the 22 as time ran out on the 22-21 ball game.

The Tigers dropped to 1-2 on the season and are home against Columbia this Thursday night at 7 p.m.
