Kokanee run

Wednesday, September 17, 2008
The Kokanee run is underway with sections of the South Fork of the Boise River above Anderson Ranch Dam literally paved with the fish trying to get to their spawning grounds. At Wolf Creek a weir has been set up to restrict the number of fish advancing up river. Fish and Game officials hope that by limiting the spawning numbers the end result will be less competition for food and thus bigger fish in the reservoir next year.
