The Mountain Home Tigers boys soccer team won one and lost one in SIC 4A boys soccer last week.

Tigers 3

Nampa 2

Danny Snelgrow put a ball off a Nampa defender into the net to score with two minutes left to help the Tigers edge Nampa, 3-2 Tuesday in the home opener for the Tiger boys, who played their first four games on the road.

Nampa had tied the game less than a minute before Snelgrow scored what proved to be the game-winner.

Tiger boys soccer coach Paul Walsh was pleased to get the win before the home crowd.

"The guys really played well! We've still got some things to work on -- our free kicks, we're just not really taking advantage of those -- same with our corners, we've been working on them but it's just not clicking yet. We've still got some room for improvement, but it's definitely great to be home in front of a friendly crowd, and they really pulled us through and they played hard."

Besides the goal by Danny Snelgrow, Jared Sexauer and Eloy Guadarrama had goals. Greg Walsh had an assist, and Christian Figueroa had 10 saves on goal.

Bishop Kelly 2

Tigers 0

The Tigers hosted Bishop Kelly Thursday at Eastside Park and came up on the short end of a 2-0 contest.

The loss dropped the Tigers to 2-2-2 on the season.

The Tigers were at Emmett on Monday and home against Skyview today. They host Jerome in a non-conference game on Thursday.
