Mountain Home traveled to Bishop Kelly last Tuesday night where they lost to the Lady Knights in four games in conference volleyball.

After falling to the Lady Knights, 17-25, in the first game, Mountain Home evened the match at 1-1, with a 25-14 win. They struggled in the third game, losing 7-25, and lost game four, 18-25, to lose the match.

Blas Lord had five aces in 12/13 serves, had 19 assists, four kills and three digs.

Samantha Laughlin went 7/7 serving, with one ace, and had 11 kills and eight digs.

Nickayla Skinner was 10/11 serving, with one ace, seven digs and one kill. Charde Huntington was 10/10 serving, with one ace, two kills and two digs. Brittany Ryan had 11 digs, Katrina Hodgerson and Arlene Futch both had four digs, and Jennie Jewell had three digs.

"We were missing our blocking that we had in our previous game during Emmett, so that's something we really need to work on with them," said Lady Tiger volleyball coach Rachele Asbury. "Overall, it was just a learning game to let us know what we need to work on before we play them again."

Mountain Home won both the sophomore and JV matches with Bishop Kelly.

The Lady Tigers faced Nampa at the Kuna tri-match last Thursday, and beat the Lady Bulldogs in three close games.

Mountain Home took game one, 25-22, won the second game, 25-16, and took game three and the match, 25-20.

"We pulled together and had some excellent passing and some great serving from Nickayla Skinner, and overall the team just stepped up after their loss to Kuna earlier in the tri-match, so it was a great game."

Samantha Laughlin was 7/7 serving and had 12 kills and a block. Charde Huntington was 5/6 serving, with one ace and seven kills. Sarah Cantrell was 12/14 serving, two aces and four kills. Nickayla Skinner went 9/11 serving, with an ace and four kills. Tanya McKenzie was 9/13 serving and had three aces. Mountain Home battled Kuna tough, but lost in three games to the Lady Kavemen Thursday night at Kuna.

The Lady Tigers came up short in game one 24-26, lost game two 16-25, and lost game three 18-25.

"Three tough close games," said Coach Asbury of the Kuna match. "In the first two games we just weren't on as far as our serve-receive. Again, that's one that we've had some issues with and something that we continually need to work on, and in our third game, we had some different things going on out there as far as trying out some different people to see what's going to work best for us."

Nickayla Skinner went 11/11 serving, had two aces and two kills. Samantha Laughlin was 7/7 serving with four kills. Blas Lord was 5/5 serving, had 10 assists and one kill. Sarah Cantrell was 4/6 serving and had three kills. Charde Huntington was 4/7 serving, had two kills and one assist. Kelsie Hopkins was 4/7 serving, with a kill and an assist. Tanya McKenzie went 3/3 serving and had one kill. Jennie Jewell was 5/5 serving, Katrina Hodgerson was 3/3 serving with an ace and an assist, and Jasmyn Jewett had two kills.

Mountain Home lost the sophomore and JV matches to Kuna.

The Lady Tigers play their first home match of the season Thursday night against Columbia. That will be played in the junior high gym due to the ongoing construction on the roof of Lloyd Schiller Gymnasium at the high school. Sophomore action is set for 4:30 p.m., JV at 5:30 p.m., and varsity at 6:30 p.m.

Mountain Home travels to Idaho Falls on Friday and Saturday for a tournament.

Coach Asbury looks forward to the experience of playing different teams.

"Yes, there'll definitely be teams that we won't see during our regular season, but it will definitely help us out for our regular season play."
