The Mountain Home Tigers boys soccer team battled to two 1-1 ties last week in conference soccer road games.

Middleton 1

Mountain Home battled Middleton to a 1-1 tie last Tuesday afternoon in SIC 4A boys soccer at Middleton.

Greg Walsh gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead with a goal in the first half, but the Vikings tied it midway through the second half. Christian Figueroa had seven saves on goal for the Tigers.

"You never want to blame the game on the referee, they called one back on us," said Tiger boys soccer coach Paul Walsh. "I thought we had an obvious goal and they saw an off-sides, so, originally, he didn't make the call, and conferred with his other partner and called on back on us. I don't know if it took the wind out of the boys, but we never really seemed to be able to recover from that. We played well, just couldn't get the ball in the net again."

Kuna 1

The Tigers battled to a 1-1 tie at Kuna last Thursday afternoon against the Kavemen.

Eloy Guadarrama scored Mountain Home's goal as the teams went into halftime tied at 1-1. Neither team scored in the second half. Christian Figueroa had six saves on goal for the Tigers.

Coach Walsh indicated the Tigers pretty much dominated the game.

"The kids played fantastic and we really controlled probably 80 percent of that game, but there again, we just could not find the back of the net."

After four games on the road to start the season, the Tigers are home this week.

They hosted Nampa on Tuesday and are home to Bishop Kelly on Thursday.

"We're really looking forward to playing at home!" said Coach Walsh.
