Barbara Jean (Honea) Stemen of Boise, formerly of Elmore County and Grand View, died Aug. 12, 2008.

A memorial service is planned at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6, at Rimrock High School auditorium in Grand View, under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.

She was born July 9, 1926, in Topeka, Kan., to Irma and George Watts.

Barbara lived over 40 years in the Grand View area. She had many jobs, including cooking at outlying ranches, owning a restaurant and driving a school bus.

She went to work for the Bruneau-Grand View School District in 1967 and retired in 2000.

She was also a member of the Grand View ambulance crew for many years.

She married W.D. (Dave) Stemen in January 1999. He preceded her in death in November 2005. "Although they had only six years together they had a very happy marriage," her family said.

Barbara is survived by: her brother, Larry Watts of Louisiana; her children, Pam McCune of Wyoming, Frank Dillard and Joe Honea, Jr. of Twin Falls, Rodger Dillard of Grand View, Virginia Peņa of Nevada, Doug Beahm of Idaho Falls, Paul Beahm of Rigby, and Allen Beahm of Minnesota; 28 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren, and stepdaughter Dianna Beck of Grand View.
