City set to OK lower budget, levy decrease

This year's city budget is expected to reduce expenditures by over $2 million and reduce the levy rate significantly.

The break for homeowners is due to an increase in utility values due to expansion of power plants within the city.

  • Isn't this something like "dog bites man?" I mean it's a reversal of what we've come to expect: Lowering the budget and reducing levies? That's really good news. Don't really understand all the whys, but a lower budget is great.
