Letter to the Editor

Back the Constitution

Wednesday, August 13, 2008

Dear editor:

Hey, who says Jack Streeter and I don't agree on anything? Excellent letter, Jack. You can't believe how it warmed the cockles of my heart to see you come forth with our Constitution, and you are so right about that. Not only SHOULD our politicians follow it, they take an OATH to follow it, just like you and I did when we enlisted in the service.

"I solemnly swear to protect and defend the Constitution of the United states against all enemies, both foreign and domestic, so help me God."

The Constitution says we don't go to war without a declaration (Article 1, Section 8). McCain-Feingold and the "Fairness Act" are both violations of our 1st Amendment freedom of speech. Civilian disarmament in ANY guise is a direct violation of the 2nd. Unlawful search and seizures, (New Orleans during Katrina) violates our 4th.

Those who support factions such as the United Nations, the "Federal" Reserve bank, the IRS, NAFTA and the North American Union, have totally discarded our Declaration of Independence.

Those seeking the higher public offices SHOULD INDEED be held to higher standards, and the American people have a right to expect it.

So Jack, if you'll read our Constitution, Bill of Rights and Declaration of Independence, and read them carefully, there should no longer be any doubt in your mind why I will not support McCain, nor Obama. Ron Paul was the only true American on this year's ballot, with the possible exception of Mike Huckabee.

And of course, Alan Keyes in 2000, but the media managed to cover him up, too.

But for the record, Jack Streeter and I are in total accord here. Our politicians DO need to follow our Constitution, if they expect MY vote, anyway.

Mike Bradbury
