Tiger golf team gets victory at Broadmore

The Mountain Home Tigers boys golf team came away with a first-place finish among three SIC 4A conference teams that competed at Broadmore Country Club on April 15. The Tiger girls finished third out of the four teams competing there.

Mountain Home won the boys competition with a 194 total, two shots better than Nampa, and five shots better than Columbia's 199.

Stephen Elliot and Evan Hiddleston both finished in a three-way tie for second, just one stroke behind Mark Bolinske, who shot a 46 to take medalist honors. Brad Yagues was a shot back at 48, Mike Heinen came in at 52, and Travis Goldsby carded a 53.

Bishop Kelly won the girls competition, shooting a 202 team total. Columbia was second at 231, Mountain Home next at 250, and Nampa came in with a 261.

Shayla Streeter led the Mountain Home golfers with a 56, which tied her for fourth. Alicen Woodal tied for eighth with her 60, Brandie Riggs shot a 66, and Shelby Stevens came in with a 68.

Mountain Home also hosted the annual Mountain Home Invitational Golf Tournament last Thursday and finished seventh overall, with a 340 team total.

Eagle's JV won the event, shooting 285. Skyview finished second at 299, and Capital was third at 304.

Brad Yagues led Mountain Home with a 79 over the eight holes.

Stephen Elliot shot an 85, Travis Goldsby and Zach Pomerantz both came in with an 88, and Michael Heinen shot a 90.

The Mountain Home JV finished 12th overall, shooting a 399. Tyler Bennett led the Tiger JV with a 90, Evan Hiddleston was a shot back at 91, Jon Zick came in with a 102, and Chris Knudson shot 116.

The Tiger boys and girls went to Broadmore Country Club on Monday for a tourney, and go to an 18-hole SIC tourney at Nampa this afternoon.
