Strong men to perform in Mountain Home

Wednesday, April 23, 2008

Team Impact, some of the strongest men on the planet, will be making several public appearances, Thursday through Saturday evenings, May 1-3, at 7 p.m. at North Elementary school.

With demonstrations of "astounding feats of strength" -- such as shattering five feet of concrete with one blow from their massive arms and snapping baseball bats in half with their bare hands -- Team Impact members will demonstrate their skills while sharing "an inspiring message of hope."

Team Impact is a group of world-class athletes, including champion power-lifters, previous WWE wrestlers, and former NFL football players. The men of Team Impact travel the globe motivating and inspiring people.

"With the problems young people face today, Team Impact has taken seriously the task of reaching America's youth with a timely message through their highly acclaimed school assemblies," a team spokesperson said.

Visiting nearly 1,000 schools each year, the group has the opportunity to speak to hundreds of thousands of students about the dangers of drugs, alcohol and the importance of academic excellence.

In addition to their public presentations in the evening, the group will be making a presentation to North Elementary's first through fourth-grade students at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 2.

The event is sponsored by First Southern Baptist Church. Call 587-3828 for more information.
