Lady Tiger JV wins big

The Mountain Home Lady Tiger junior varsity softball team came away with two lopsided conference wins last week.

Mtn. Home 23

Middleton 4

Mountain Home pounded out 17 hits in a 23-4 five-inning JV conference softball win at Middleton last Tuesday.

Modesty Labbe had three hits and four RBIs to lead the Lady Tigers at the plate. Jennica Quintal, Blas Lord, Rachel Warila, Alex Schmidt, Shelby Doerr and Jaclyn Lasuen each had two hits, Quintal and Warila both had four RBIs, Doerr had three, and Lord and Lasuen each had one RBI. Carly McMullen had a hit and three RBIs, and Amanda Osborn also had a hit.

Blas Lord got the win, limiting the Lady Vikings to just three hits.

Mtn. Home 17

Nampa 7

Mountain Home pounded out 17 hits against Nampa last Thursday as they downed the Lady Bulldogs 17-7 in a five-inning JV conference softball game at home.

Blas Lord had four hits, including a double, and knocked in a run.

Modesty Labbe and Carly McMullen both had three hits and two RBIs. Labbe had a double. Alex Schmidt and Jaclyn Lasuen both had two hits, Schmidt had two RBIs. Jennica Quintal, Shelby Doerr and Casey Liercke each had a hit, Quintal and Doerr had two RBIs, Liercke, one.

Doerr went the distance for the win, giving up five hits and striking out five.

"These girls are on a mission and I'm there to help them complete it," said Lady Tiger JV softball coach Sandi Bish.
