Leaders didn't lie to us about war

Wednesday, April 2, 2008

Dear editor:

I read your editorial, "4,000 dead and counting."

I disagree with the sixth paragraph that says, "We've already lost way too much in a war started by leaders who lied to us."

They did not lie to us. They acted on information that later was proved incorrect.

Our leaders did what they needed to do at the time to prevent further attacks. They did prevent further attacks.

They did the best they could with the information they had.

I am glad we have Meals on Wheels here in Mountain Home. They bought me meals just before my hip surgery.

I am very grateful to them and the wonderful volunteers. It is great to have such good people in our community.

I am also very glad we have 911 emergency services in Mountain Home.

I love our community here.
