Thomas Ralph Kodesh, 92, of Mountain Home, died Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at Elmore Medical Center in Mountain Home.

A viewing was held Monday, March 24, at Demaray's Gooding Chapel. Graveside Services were at held Tuesday March 25, at Richfield Cemetery in Richfield, Idaho, with Reverend Dave Buechler officiating.

Thomas was born June 2, 1915, in Buhl, Idaho, the son of James and Emma Kodesh. He was raised and educated in Richfield.

Thomas herded sheep for the family until he was drafted into service during World War II. He served as a medic in the Army in the Hawaiian Islands.

Thomas ranched in the Hailey area for several years, then moved to Marley and farmed. Later he moved to Jerome and continued farming.

Thomas worked in Mountain Home at the saw mill as a debarker until he retired.

He married Verna Martin Aertrite in 1948 in Elko, Nev.

He is survived by: step-daughter Lorreta (Don) Fadely of Mountain Home; three brothers, Anton of John Day, Ore., James of Buhl, and Johnny of Wendell; three sisters, Ella Mae Tennant of Mountain Home, Janie Brown of Barien, Wash., and Eileen Steele of Twin Falls; six grandchildren, and two step-granddaughters.

Thomas was preceded in death by: his wife, Verna; four sisters, Mary (Buck) Ward, Rosie (Herb) Anderson, Lilly (Ben) Kirkpatrick and Dorthy (Anton) Snyder, and four step-grandchildren.
