Letter to the Editor

We've got great cops here

Wednesday, March 26, 2008

Dear editor:

I have to respond to Mr. Paul Thirion's letter to the editor in last week's paper. He should be ashamed of himself.

I think Mr. Thirion needs to walk a mile in the shoes of a Mountain Home Police Officer. They do protect and defend the public. Some of the scum-bags they have to deal with would try anyone's patience, but they remain polite and respectful while performing their duties.

They not only perform regular duties, but often give motorist assists, look for lost children, and do welfare checks on people with health issues.

I hope Mr. Thirion will never need that help, but he can be sure he will be treated with efficiency and respect as would anyone.

Mr. Thirion, instead of slinging mud at our Police Dept., why not purchase a scanner and listen to what the P.D. has to deal with on a daily basis.

By the way, I'm a grandmother and not afraid of the police, I'm proud of them.
