Golfers fall in two meets

The Mountain Home Tiger boys golf team competed in two tournaments last week.

The Mountain Home Tiger boys were back at Falcon Crest Golf Course last Monday and shot a better team score, but still finished fourth. Skyview won the competition, shooting a 163 team total, five shots better than Kuna. Nampa was a distant third, at 196, a stroke better than Mountain Home.

Brad Yagues led the Tigers, shooting a 44, which tied him for sixth, seven strokes out of first place. Steven Elliott and Michael Heinen both shot a 50, Zach Pomerantz carded a 53 and Travis Goldsby came in with a 54.

Thursday the Tigers were at River Bend Golf Course for the Jack Jones Canyon County Classic.

Vallivue won the tourney, shooting a 319. Emmett was four shots back, followed by Middleton at 332, Meridian, 338, Homedale and Skyview both shot 341, Garden Valley was next with 373, Columbia, 383, Mountain Home, 387, and Nampa, 425.

Travis Goldsby led the Tiger golfers, shooting an 88 over the 18 holes, which tied him for 17th. Steven Elliott shot a 96, Michael Heinen came in with a 98, Destry Royce, 105, and Zach Pomerantz, 106.
