Lady Tiger JV softball team improves to 5-0

The Mountain Home Lady Tiger JV improved to 5-0 on the season with two conference wins last week.

Mtn. Home 11, 21

Wood River 1, 0

The Mountain Home Lady Tiger JV softball team improved to 3-0 with a doubleheader sweep of Wood River on March 8 at Mountain Home.

Shelby Doerr picked up the win in the first game, striking out 10 and allowing just one run on one hit.

Mountain Home pounded out 14 hits in the 11-1, five inning win. Jennica Quintal and Alex Schmidt both had three hits, Schmidt had two RBIs, and Quintal had one while scoring three runs.

Rachel Warila, Lindsay Sessions, Blas Lord and Modesty Labbe each had two hits. Warila and Sessions had RBIs.

Blas Lord shut out the Lady Wolverines in the second game, striking out five and walking two. She helped herself out at the plate with a home run and two RBIs.

Jennica Quintal and Alex Schmidt both had four hits, Quintal had a double and triple and three RBIs, Schmidt had a home run and scored four runs. Lindsay Sessions and Carly McMullen each had three hits, Sessions a home run and three RBIs, McMullen a double and a triple and two RBIs. Amada Osborn and Rachel Warila both had two hits, Osborn a triple and two RBIs, Warila had an RBI. Casey Liercke also had a hit.

Nampa 3

The Lady Tigers JV scored three runs in the top of the seventh to take their conference opener, 4-3, over Nampa last Tuesday.

Shelby Doerr, who pitched the final three innings and shut out the Lady Bulldogs on two hits, picked up the win. She also had a hit and RBI.

Jennica Quintal and Rachel Warila both had two hits, Modesty Labbe, Lindsay Sessions, Hannah Barresi and Blas Lord all had hits, and Casey Liercke had an RBI.

Mtn. Home 11

Kuna 8

Mountain Home scored five runs in their last at bat to come from behind and defeat Kuna, 11-8, Thursday afternoon in JV conference softball at Kuna.

Rachel Warila, Lindsay Sessions and Alex Schmidt had the big bats for Mountain Home, each getting three hits. Sessions and Warila both scored three runs, Warila and Schmidt each had RBIs. Casey Liercke and Carly McMullen both had two hits, Shelby Doerr and Blas Lord also had hits, and Jennica Quintal had an RBI.

Shelby Doerr started the game and pitched into the fifth before being relieved by Blas Lord. Both pitchers gave up four runs and two hits. Doerr struck out five and walked four, Lord struck out one and walked two.

The win improved the Lady Tigers to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in conference.
