Lady Pilots lose to Kimberly in State softball championship

The Glenns Ferry Lady Pilots went up against the defending 3A State softball champions at Kimberly in their season opener at Kimberly on March 11, and were 10-runned and no-hit in both ball games, losing the first game, 11-1,and the second game, 15-0.

Glenns Ferry scored its only run in the first inning of the first game when the Kimberly pitcher, Nellie Makings, walked the first two batters and hit Ashlea Gramkow to load the bases.

Jaclynn Ferry walked to bring in the Lady Pilots' lone run, but Makings settled down and struck out the side to end the inning.

Makings ended the five innings with 11 strikeouts.

Kimberly scored 11 runs in the first inning in the second game, which ended after three innings, with Kimberly winning 15-0.

The Lady Pilots hosted Marsing on March 13 and traveled to New Plymouth for two games on March 15.
