Steve and Debbie Black of Syracuse, Utah, formerly of Mountain Home, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Mallory, to Johnathan Elder, son of Ted and Christy Elder, also of Syracuse.

Mallory is a 2004 graduate of Mountain Home High School and is employed at Treasury Credit Union in Ogden, Utah.

John is a 2001 graduate of American Fork High School. He served for two years in the Canada Toronto East Mission for the LDS Church and is pursuing a degree in accounting at Weber State University. He is currently employed with the IRS as an auditor.

The couple are planning a May wedding in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
