Keener brings home gold for Mountain Man club

Tanner Keener, 6, took top honors in the freestyle event

The Mountain Man Wrestling Club took part in the Kuna Classic Invitational wrestling tournament over the weekend.

Finishing with a silver medal in the Greco-Roman competition and second place for Mountain Man were Ryan Goldsby and Ty Kleffner.

Third-place medals went to Cory Pinque and Nicholas Shoemaker.

Others competing but not placing in the medals were Tyler Rios, Jacob Lucas, Jonathon Ryan, Nicholas and Charlie Shoemaker.

Bringing home gold in the freestyle competition -- for the second straight week -- was 6-year-old Tanner Keener.

Earning a silver medal was Kanoa Doronio, and bringing home third-place bronze medals were Jonathon Ryan and Ryan Goldsby, Finishing fourth was Nicholas Shoemaker. Other wrestlers that made the trip but did not place in the freestyle competition were Kole Filipovich, and Jacob Ryan.

Mountain Man wrestling will take a break next weekend, but will travel to Vallivue in two weeks to compete.
