Lady Tiger hoop honors awarded

Awards and letters were handed out by the coaches at the Mountain Home Lady Tiger basketball awards banquet last Friday night.

Brent Keener handed out awards for the Lady Tiger varsity.

Voted by her teammates as the Offensive Player of the Year was Francesca Hale. Angie Rios earned the Defensive Player of the Year award.

Receiving the Utility Award for Most Versatile Player was Hannah Zamora. Earning Second Team All-Conference was Emily Moranda and Francesca Hale.

SIC All-Academic awards, for having a grade point average of 3.5 or better, went to Blas Lord, Shelby Posey, Angie Rios, Chantell Crane and Emily Moranda. Earning State All-Academic awards for a GPA of 3.25 or better were Blas Lord, Shelby Posey, Angie Rios, Francesca Hale, Brandie Riggs, Chantell Crane, Emily Moranda and Hannah Zamora. Earning state awards for having a GPA of between 3.75 and 4.00 were Shelby Posey, Emily Moranda and Blas Lord.

Jeremy Sayer handed out awards to the JV Lady Tiger players.

Earning the Chairperson of the Boards award was Sarah Cantrell. Jessi Cameron named Most Improved Player, Brenda Hawkins earned the Hustle Award, and Blas Lord won the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.

Stehvn Tesar handed out awards to his Lady Tiger sophomore squad that won the district championship and went 20-1 overall. Rachel Warila earned the Offensive Player of the Year award, and Arlene Futch was the Defensive Player of the Year. The Most Improved Player award went to Fatima Guillen, and the Utility Award for Most Versatile went to Jennica Quintal.

All-Academic awards for having a GPA over 3.5 went to Amanda Osborn and Lindsay Sessions.

Tiffany Belt also recognized her freshman Lady Tiger basketball team, which took second in the district tourney.
