The Mountain Home Tigers will be hosting their fifth annual Tiger Baseball Camp this Saturday at Eastside Park.

All youth, ages 8-15 years of age are invited to the camp, which is designed to give young baseball players the proper instruction in the offensive and defensive aspects of the game.

"There will be two different groups this year," said Mountain Home Tiger head baseball coach Travis DeVore. "The Babe Ruth-age athletes will be on a separate schedule, which will allow us to work on more subtle aspects of the game."

The camp schedule starts at 9:30 a.m. with registration and coaches' discussion time with the players. Pitching and fielding drills will take place between 10 a.m. and noon. Lunch will be from noon till 12:30 p.m. From 12:30-2:30 p.m. will be hitting and base running skills, with a scrimmage if time allows.

Coach Devore and Tiger JV head coach and Mountain Home Royals head coach Matt Bundy are the camp directors. They will be assisted by the Tiger varsity and JV coaching staff, and possibly some MHHS alumni.

The cost of the camp is $25 per camper, with a $40 maximum for two or more youths from the same family.

"All money earned from the camp will be put back into the field for the benefit of all programs," said Coach DeVore. "Make checks payable to MHHS Baseball."

Registration forms are available at the Mountain Home schools. For more information, contact Coach DeVore at the high school at 587-2570.
