Help sought for woman with cancer

Wednesday, March 5, 2008

Dear editor:

I would like to (ask) citizens in the community to donate unwanted items to be dropped off and sold at a yard sale at 165 N. 11th East St., right next door to the Maverick, to benefit a wonderful woman who is very ill with cancer. She has been told to get her effects in order and would like to spend the remaining months with her children and grandchildren in Napa Valley, Calif. I am trying to make money for her to move down there.

I did this about three summers ago when she was first diagnosed with breast cancer and people simply dropped off unwanted items in my yard and also donated money to her fund at Home Federal Bank. She now has cancer in her brain, rib cage and sternum.

We made enough money for her to buy a vehicle that was fuel efficient to drive to chemo treatments. Can you help?
