Vandals shoot ITD message board

Wednesday, February 20, 2008

Vandals damaged a dynamic message board along Interstate 84 near Mountain Home, leaving six bullet holes in the display area that will cost up to $8,000 to repair, the Idaho Transportation Department said.

The incident happened Sunday evening, Feb. 10, on the westbound side of the interstate just west of Mountain Home. The portable message board was warning of the possibility of wildlife in the area. A number of elk and deer, moving down from higher elevations to seek forage, have been hit by vehicles on the interstate. Anyone with information about the vandalism should contact the Elmore County Sheriff's Department, Idaho State Police or the Idaho Transportation Department.

  • There's a good plan, just yell at them, tell them what idiots they are and that will stop them. Did you ever consider that someone who would do something like this doesn't have a conscience to begin with and all the yelling, screaming and name calling in the world won't be affective on them? It just makes YOU appear as juvenile as those people who would shoot at a sign the way they did.

By the way, Bazookaman, if you had seen them, what would you have done, shot them?
