Tigers finish 11th at 4-state meet

The Mountain Home Tigers finished 11th at the annual Tiger-Grizz Wrestling Tournament in Idaho Falls over the weekend.

Star Valley, Wyo., won the prestigious tourney with 205.5 points. Blackfoot was second with 197.5 There were 33 teams entered from four states. The Mountain Home Tigers came in 11th, with 96 points.

Mountain Home had three wrestlers place.

Cal Vivier made it to the championship match at 145 pounds before losing to finish second.

Colby Lord finished fifth at 189 pounds, and Kaeo Doronio finished sixth at 130 pounds.

The Tigers sent nine wrestlers to the tournament, and all of them won at least two matches. Ty Kleffner (135), Nico Pinque (140), Kamron Spaulding (152), Tanner Carpenter (160) and Chris Knudson (171) all went 3-2, one win away from placing. T.J. Billinger (119) went 2-2 in tournament action.
