Pilots trounce Nampa Christian and Liberty Charter

The Glenns Ferry Pilots picked up a couple of boys basketball wins last week at home in Gordon Brown Gymnasium. Glenns Ferry - 63 Nampa Christian - 48.

Glenns Ferry overcame a rough first quarter to down the Nampa Christian Trojans, 63- 48, in non-conference boys basketball on December 17 in Gordon Brown Gymnasium in Glenns Ferry.

The Trojans jumped out to a 17-9 lead after a quarter, but Glenns Ferry battled back to tie the game at 29-29 at the half.

Glenns Ferry outscored the Trojans 34-19 second half for the win. "It was a tough game!' said Pilot Coach Jeremiah Johnston. "We played them real tight in the first half and picked up the defensive intensity second half and built up a little bit better lead."

Aaron Crane and Jesus Rodriguez led the way with 22 and 19 points, respectively. Michael Crane added nine points; Damian Valle, seven Kramer Brown, Johnny Zacharias and Johnny Popoca each had two points.

Liberty Charter - 40

Glenns Ferry jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in downing the Patriots, 61-40, on December 18 in Glenns Ferry.

"The first quarter was a good quarter for us," said Coach Johnston. "We shot real well from the floor, and it just kind of carried on from there."

The Pilots had four players score in double figures against Liberty Charter, led by Aaron Crane with 17 points. Michael Crane, Hollister Jones and Damian Valle each added 10 points. Kramer Brown scored five points; Jesus Rodriguez, four; Austin Smith and Johnny Popoca both had two, and Jacob Valle had one point
