Tiger sophs defeat Kuna

The Mountain Home Tigers sophomores built up a lead on Kuna and hung on for a 42-40 conference win over Kuna last Tuesday night at Kuna.

An 8-0 run late in the first quarter put Mountain Home up 16-8. They led 16-10 after a quarter. They stretched their lead to double digits most of the second period, and took a 28-20 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Kuna outscored the Tigers, 11-3 in the third quarter to narrow the margin to two, 33-31, after three. Mountain Home built the lead up to 38-31 midway through the fourth, and withstood another charge by Kuna to win, 42-40.

Tom Hennessey and Christian Halbach-Patterson led the scoring for Mountain Home with nine points apiece. Alex Kellogg added eight, Trevor Woodruff, six, David Bitrick, four, Brock Morris, three, Damian Soliz, two, and Jordan Warila scored one.

The win improved the Tiger sophomores to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play. They return to action on Dec. 28 at Jerome.
