Lady Tiger sophs stay unbeaten

The Mountain Home sophomore Lady Tigers kept their record unblemished last Tuesday night, holding off Emmett, 37-35 in Lloyd Schiller Gymnasium in Mountain Home.

Mountain Home managed a 10-7 first quarter lead, and stretched it to 22-14 at the half. Emmett narrowed the lead to three, 29-26, after three quarters, but the Lady Tigers hung on for a 37-35 victory.

"We built up a pretty big lead and hung on," said Lady Tiger sophomore coach Stehvn Tesar. "We got in foul trouble, but managed to hang on."

Amanda Osborn led the Lady Tigers in scoring with 11 points, Rachel Warila added nine, Alex Schmidt had eight, Jennica Quintal, five and Fatima Guillen, four.

The win improved the Mountain Home sophomores to 9-0 on the season, and 6-0 in conference play. They return to action Jan. 3 at Middleton, and are back home Jan. 5 against Nampa.
