Governor offers his thanks to all who attended his Capital for a Day visit

Wednesday, December 26, 2007

Dear editor:

To the people of Glenns Ferry and Elmore County: On behalf of the First Lady and all the members of my administration, please accept my profound thanks for your hospitality and the great civic virtue you displayed on the occasion of the Capital for a Day event in your community on Monday, Dec. 17.

My visit refreshed my understanding of the community spirit, justifiable pride and sense of family that resides in Glenns Ferry and Elmore County.

Representatives Rich Wills and Pete Nielsen, Senator Tim Corder, Mayor JoAnn Lanham and her staff, her counterparts from surrounding cities, county commissioners, folks at the Glenns Ferry VFW Hall, Carmela Vineyards, US Ecology and everyone who participated in the day's events deserve the highest of praise for making Glenns Ferry and Elmore County such a great place to live, work and raise a family.

As an Idaho native and former member of Congress, it was especially nice to be among folks who share my love of Idaho's agricultural heritage and rural values. Rest assured that the First Lady and I will cherish the memories of my day with you throughout my time as governor and beyond.

C.L. "Butch" Otter

Governor of Idaho
